ReplyDeleteI can see the foxes frolicking in your poem - nice
DeleteThis is for the prompt yesterday finished this morning Warning: there is some disturbing content and the end is dark. It started playful with a thesaurus and some rhymes. It took over and got dark fast. But so does the news. I have often wondered, have I helped create those ' villains'? And what would it take for me to become one.) http://hittingthemark-jones.blogspot.ca/2017/10/i-wasthey-were.html

Posting for Sudha Reddy.
ReplyDeleteToday’s prompt brought back a lot of childhood memories.
The stories of a cunning fox.... always scheming......
these stories had a message to understand the crafty creatures in the world, so as to teach children to learn to be safe and not be gullible....
An attempt —florette form...
MEMORY BOX
The stories of the cunning fox
Stowed away in the keepsake box
Brought down from the attic, to reveal the creative craft
The letters faded, pages folded, but the draft is clear in the memory box
Many creative fox stories have been told
Stored away in the playful memories' folds
A generation changed, but the story craft stayed
The cunning, creative red fox for ever stayed playfully bold.

ReplyDeleteSo I jumped right into it, and here is my poem (a light hearted one for once!)

ReplyDeletelove these lines:
Delete"end the orange seige
with the tempered touch
of
a lady's glove."
the orange siege indeed must end!
Your poem really appealed to me. I loved your different take on Fox. Also loved the stanzas with dance references. Especially:
ReplyDeletewe foxtrot
around the hurdles
quickstep
the
catch
Thank you. xoA

Following the fox prompt, I wrote for awhile and had a varied list of words, attributes, and physiology. It could have gone in several directions, but this one jumped out at me. Day 19's offering: http://tao-talk.com/2017/10/19/day-19-oct-wripomo-a-mothers-dream/

ReplyDeleteThat Florette seemed like a deadly nightshade. My brain hurt too much to tackle it, so I did this instead.
