Day 15: Fighting the Urge to Vomit

Today's prompt sits uncomfortably in my throat. One of my least favorite feelings in this world is this one. If I'm fighting back the urge to vomit, then something in my world is skewed. The dinner didn't set well. The presentation went horribly. Someone has passed on a virus that I now have to fight off. The news was too awful and too real. The baby apparently hates it when I eat broccoli now.

Generally speaking, there's a trigger for that urge to vomit. Today I challenge you to key into one of those triggers and describe that scenario that preludes fighting back the sick. It's not always a negative that makes us feel this way. Take it where you want it to go and tell us a story.

The suggested type of poem for this prompt is a narrative or storytelling poem. This poem has one main character, a beginning, middle, and an end. You can use devices like rhyme and repetition to tell the story (or not, it's entirely up to you). There's no set structure for modern narrative poems. Use your senses and help us to explore your story. You don't have to take a lot of time to set up the story, you can dive right in. And there's no definitive length for the narrative poem. It can be as long or as short as you want.

Happy writing!

  3. My offering for today.
This one is a poem written in April. It is very gross.

I wrote another one for today, but it's definitely for mature audiences so I couldn't post it on Morgan's site. I'll send it to you if you want to read it...
And yes, the prompt indeed said Day 16...

  14. Sharing for Sudha Reddy:

Prompt - fighting the urge to vomit....
Even the thought of it brings back flashbacks from horrendous morning sickness I had with all my pregnancies. Motion sickness also did not spare me... though both of them I remember only occasionally now.....

Like anything in life , acceptance of the fact that it is a natural phenomenon, makes it bearable but certainly the unpleasantness stayed with me.
Sleeping 💤 is what saved me in such situations....
Would sleep a lot .....so as not to feel the uneasiness....
But sleep is a luxury in my business 😃💕

    Catharsis is Cleansing

Catharsis is healing in many ways...
It is usually inevitable , in a nature’s protective mechanism in place
Catharsis is cleansing in most ways
There is relief and healing after the actual action plays.

The urge to vomit food that is unsettling
The urge to vomit negative thoughts that are ruminating
The urge to vomit feelings that are unforgiving
The urge to vomit emotions that could be damaging
The urge to vomit the words that are unloving

The urge and the thought of vomiting , spreads unpleasant feelings around...
Catharsis is healing in many ways .......
There is relief and healing after the actual action
Yes, one should be considerate in considering the right place and mode for its action....
Certain unpleasantries in life could actually be good for our health......
Only if one is considerate in considering the right place and mode for its action....
Catharsis is healing in many ways.....
There is relief and healing after the actual action plays...😊💕🙏sr
