Childhood holds wonder and mystery. We want to know the why
and how and what about everything. As children trying to grow up and make sense
of the world around us, adults often told us we’d understand, someday. When…
- · we were older
- · we became parents
- · we had some experience under our belts
- · we’d loved and lost
- · we learned a thing or two
- · we had to pay the bills
Brainstorm a list of the things you now understand that
maybe you didn’t quite comprehend as a young person.
OR
Brainstorm a list of things you have come to understand
through lessons learned or encounters as an adult. Many of us benefit from
“teachable moments” (or years) where we make mistakes and then change course.
Choose one understanding--or several--and write your poem.

It's so true that as a child I have heard that one day when I grow up and be in the shoes of my parents , I will understand and realize so many things. As a child I have always been inquisitive and wanted to know about everything under the Sun.
ReplyDeleteToday, I have found answers to some of those queries but the quest is on .
My take on today's prompt :

Thank you, Annis, for a lovely prompt, though I struggled a bit with what and how . . . to find a new poetic form: the Nonet. Happy writing! https://bethandwriting.blogspot.com/2017/10/october-5-letting-go.html

ReplyDeleteFinally I understand......
Except that some of the understanding changes with new knowledge and with the change in our own perspectives....💕
The Living Circle ⭕️
Yes....’I get it’....... is KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge is ever evolving and changing
Ego is at its full existence..(I did it )
Drop the competition and jealousy
Away from Misery of human life....
Aha.....’I understand this’..... is WISDOM
Wisdom is ever growing and maturing
Ego is on the way exiting
Drop the guilt and vulnerability (of ‘not enough’)
Taste the freedom of bondage....
Wow...‘Finally I understand it.’.....
Wisdom in action, is PURPOSE
Egoless self in action
Such action lives on as a LEGACY
Lives beyond one’s physical existence ..
Acquire the skill and knowledge, to improve the world within you
With an Intention to offer them all back to the world around you
Triumphant .....to complete a full living circle.......
Cruising through the living circle
Extract a life of one’s choice
Giving and taking along the way..
Then the chances are,
you have understood the meaning of living to its fullest.❤️😊🙏sr
I like the distinction between knowledge and wisdom. Thank you. xoA
DeleteThanks, Annis! I try not to be too dismayed.
