DeleteI'm going to chew on this prompt for some days, it perfectly fits a workshop I'm participating in. This is my start for the prompt: https://unassortedstories.wordpress.com/2018/10/05/denied/
ReplyDeleteToday's prompt can have many meanings. For me it's -

ReplyDeleteWeeeeeelllllll....
ReplyDeleteMy offering took all the rules, beat the living crap out of them with a baseball bat, and left them for dead in an alley. It's raw, it's rude, and it's far more prose than poetry, although I think prose is too pretty a word for it. Harsh subject matter and a lot of profanity, definitely not for those with more delicate sensibilities. Proceed at your own peril.
Devastation (NSFW)
That's spoken word slam poetry right there. Powerful stuff, and right on the money.

Mine is more about a strong feeling of rejection rather than anything specific.

ReplyDeleteDenied...
ReplyDeleteIt hurt deep
Like no tomorrow
It is pitch dark
Like no way out
It felt heavy
Like hundred tons
Hurdles all around
Hurricane in the heart
Hacking Human comprehension
Like no way out
Time is every thing
When it is not your time
Duck in for a while
Let the time pass by
Circumstances can be changed
In the end truth will triumph
To save the decency of humanity
At times a lot is lost
But see what is left
To live with conviction
you rise again and again..
Till the time is right
And circumstances changed
Denial is relative to life
But sometimes, it could be the END
But only if you let it ..
Denial is not for ever
hang in there with persistence
resilient to change the circumstances
Denial is for ever only if we give up easy
A tough fight with conviction and courage is worth loosing... sr
