Poetry Prompts Day 10 - Dancing on Air

As I move and spiral through this road of loving myself enough to love another, I see the highs and the lows. Sometimes I'm able to stay in the moment and just be, just feel and allow love to vibrate through me and outward. (I know, some of you are probably vomiting right now.) I am in the second half of my life with a lot of baggage and moving through this sometimes feels like a mine field and the next step could create an explosion.  Oh, but those moments of euphoria... which are quite addictive, there is nothing else like them.

Poetry Prompt:

When love is going well, in those euphoric moments, it is like dancing on air. Everything feels good, the sun is bright in the sky without a cloud to rain on your mood. Whether it is hormone induced, something good happening in your life, or true love, tell us about a time when you were dancing on air.

Suggested form:

I am not one that likes to play with rhyme all that much but this rhyming form is calling to me. Play with it if you choose and see what you think. Converse.

Please explore poetry without rules, but don't try to fix anyone. Some of us love to explore the darker side and we just want to be heard. If the words you read touch you in some way, share what you love about the poem, what speaks to you, what makes you feel deep in your bones, but no giving advice or words of wisdom. That isn't what this is about.

Remember, our prompts are only suggestions, you can find your inspiration wherever your muse leads you. Please visit the other participants, share the hashtag, #OctPoWriMo on social media, and share your link in the comments below. Let us know how this journey into poetry is going for you.

  2. I'm feeling anything but lighthearted this morning, so the poem is a dark one. With a wink - albeit a dark wink. https://unassortedstories.wordpress.com/2018/10/10/till-death-do-us-part/

  9. Finding mine a bit mawkish today, to be honest.

But as my first baby is due in just 17 days I'm happy to be able to write a poem a day at all, as really felt I would lack energy and motivation to undertake this challenge.

  11. Busy day today as I had to attend a marriage of a friend. Just got time to follow the prompt. Managed to pen this in a jiffy. Did try to maintain the form to the best of my abilities. A few months back I had a scare. Thank god the tests were negative. Happy me :D

  28. an attempt at converse

    Dancing on air...

    Romance in the air mild
    Desires deep and wild

    Delighted with the thoughts wild
    Dreaming about the honey mild

Blinded to all the past painful aches
Blind folded now by the pleasurable aches

    Happiness in my honey's hands
    Happiness in time drifting sand

Euphoric dance balanced in mid air
Checks and balances go off air

    Love that keeps me grounded
Love in my heart dancing on air...sr

chasing happiness and love..in matter of time..
    is usually a drifting sand...
We get what we give to others generously...sr
