Poets from all over the world have been participating in OctPoWriMo since 2012, from new poets to well seasoned poets. I created OctPoWriMo so that anyone who wanted to explore poetry would feel comfortable in doing so here. We believe there are no rules to poetry, only playing with your words until you breathe life into them.

Poetry Prompts:
Shine your light is the main prompt for today, in fact it is the theme for this OctPoWriMo. Some have taken this time during the Pandemic to explore their talents and share them with others. How can you shine your light? Write for ten minutes exploring what shining your light means to you.

Normally I share one poetry form or type for those who wish to challenge themselves or to just try something new with their poetry. Previously I tried to keep them simple. This year I am going to offer two, one challenging and one less challenging.

Your acrostic flows so easily and allows the reader to get lost in your uplifting message. Lovely!
DeleteThank you very much :)

ReplyDeletehttps://mkvecchitto.com/2020/10/01/shining-your-light/
Beautiful writing.
DeleteHad to create a new blog because I do not have access to my home blog, www.lunaticpoet.com. :(
ReplyDeleteBut I have a place to work from and that's enough, right? ;-) So, here's my Day 1 poem: https://wickedtwists.blogspot.com/2020/10/octpowrimo-day-1-shine-your-light.html
Here's my attempt at a Kyrielle Sonnet

I played with y'all last year for the first time. This year, my niece is planning on joining in, too. Thank you!

This year is the first I've heard of OctPoWriMo. I am NOT a poet; not by any stretch of the imagination. But stretching the ol' creativity is a good thing, even if the result sucks, right?

Getting started this year. Thank you, Morgan. xoA

I'm not sure I'll have time to participate every day, but I'll try. Since my blog is still private, I'll try to join in through Instagram. Hopefully it works!
