OctPoWriMo Day 2

Changeling: a child believed to have been secretly substituted by fairies for the parents' real child in infancy. Online Google Dictionary

When I was a small child, I used to daydream that there was a mistake and my parents weren't my real parents and my real parents would be magical, loving, and I would be as special as they were.

Unfortunately that wasn't the case. It doesn't matter how old you get, to know if your parents couldn't love you just the way you are, how can anyone else. I think it is ingrained at a cellular level. Logic goes out the window when time after time you are proven right. Yeah, I need therapy.

Poetry Prompts:

In the shadows, did you ever secretly wish you were someone else, either as a child or an adult? Free write for ten minutes asking yourself that question and see where it leads, dive into the darkness. Take pieces from that and create a poem.

Suggested Poetry Type: Minute Poetry This poetry type popped out at me. As soon as I read the poem example I knew this was the one. It reads like something I would have written when I was a child or teen. I just wanted to be loved. Now I know better. Of course I'd love to have someone love me like that, although I'm beginning to think it isn't possible. Even if it is, I have to love myself first.

Word Prompts:

child's mind
what waits in the darkness
fantasy world
what is real

Music to listen and wonder to. Move your body as you think about the questions and then play with your words.

Peace,
Morgan Dragonwillow (Yes, I changed it back)

Sometimes I think I need to figure out a way to erect a force field around my blog to keep out those well-meaning shiny happy types who just don't get that the world could be any way except wonderful and that if your world isn't wonderful, all you need to do is "change your stinkin' thinkin'." I have had more than enough of such people to last me a lifetime!
