Ah, good ol' Father Time, I know him well. He is constantly there reminding us that our time here is short and if we don't make the best of it we will never accomplish what we want to accomplish with the limited time we have on this, planet earth.
When my exes mother died sixteen years ago, I noticed she had a clock in every room. I immediately decided I didn't want to live my life ruled by the clock and got rid of almost all of the clocks in my home. Of course in this society we have to allow clocks a say in our lives, but I wanted to minimize it as much as possible.
Of course I couldn't help but feel like time is running out when I hit my fifties for all the things I wanted to accomplish in this life. I have discovered that time is very precious and valuable to me and how I spend it. I know I don't want to spend it making money for other people. I want to spend it doing the things I love and have a passion for. It is why I started walking dogs. If I had to do something, outside of my writing and creating, to make a living then I was only going to do something that I cared about, and I love dogs.

Sorry to hear about your knee.Hope those dogs are sending you get well cards:) Troubles seem to come all together...In threes they say. My first time here and am enjoying it. Sticking with the given prompts although I misinterpreted this one... thought it meant time spent with Dad...oh well my mind tends to spin off on occasion:)
You can interpret them however they inspire you. Glad to have you along for the OctPoWriMo Journey.
DeleteNurture that knee. Thank you for posting today's prompt . . . in spite of all else. I hope looking out the window at the fall will ease your thoughts into another poem. Here's mine for today -- a step to healing.

Oh Morgan, I feel you! I'm going to write my post now, inspired by yours. If I manage to get a poem out of it, it'll be my first one. I've left about it, cried about it, but not poemed about it.
ReplyDeleteI wish you patience, endurance, and much loving support.
As fast as I could because I don't want to think. https://unassortedstories.wordpress.com/2019/10/16/timed-out/

ReplyDeleteTime is strange. I've struggled with time this month. That's why 1/2 my posts are finished at 2 or 3 in the morning. Today I got stuck with a 2 to 10 PM shift. Thinking I wouldn't have time I took time when poor Miss Morgan didn't have time to post the promt. I picked a minute poem. Too bad, I like blitz form.
