OctPoWriMo Day 11

The house is quiet except for my kitten aggressively playing with her toy and running around, zooming from here to there. I think of the silence, which in our society isn't really very silent. As I'm sitting here, besides my kitten, I can hear the fan above me and the fan of the laptop. I can't hear Him breathing in his room, not even sure he's sleeping, but the silence between us is deafening. My silence is so loud my ears are bursting.

    I have written a cleave poem though perhaps the rather chopped up staccato of the loop poem would also have suited the theme.

      Thank you! It's a form I only rarely tackle as it's tricky to get the two sides telling contrasting stories. It's easy to split a poem in two, but then you tend to get three poems saying the same thing!
