Disappointment to a noble soul is what cold water is to burning metal; it strengthens, tempers, intensifies, but never destroys it.
— Eliza Tabor
Today's Prompt: First Time You Were Disappointed
Disappointment dogs us throughout our life. Some are minor disappointments, we get over them pretty soon but some are like a festering wound. Whether we are beaten by it or use it to strengthen our resolve is sometimes in our hands and sometimes beyond our control.
Do you remember your first disappointment? Was it in school? Was it about grades or when mom was late to pick you up? Was it in high school when you were spurned by your first love? Or when you couldn't pursue a course of your choice, were not selected for the school team, first job, failed relationships...it could be anything. Maybe you are disappointed right now with the course your life has taken.
“There’s always failure. And there’s always disappointment. And there’s always loss. But the secret is learning from the loss, and realizing that none of those holes are vacuums.”
― Michael J. Fox
How do you deal with disappointment? Do you let despondency shroud you or do you bounce back with renewed vigour. There is no right way or wrong way to deal with disappointments that pepper our life. But to give up, in my humble opinion, would be to give up on life!
I would not like to suggest any poetry form today because I know mine is going to be a long ramble. Some of you may say the same thing succinctly in the form of a Haiku! So please, allow the words to flow and maybe we will all learn from each other about disappointments or how to deal with them.

This one is angry, irreverent, and I don't recommend it to anyone who is devout, as the spoutings of an angry agnostic are likely not your cup of tea.
