OctPoWriMo Begins!

“All great beginnings start in the dark, when the moon greets you to a new day at midnight.”

So glad you have decided to join us for the fourth year of the OctPoWriMo Poetry Journey!

There aren't many rules and we like to think of them more as guidelines.

  • Be courteous to your fellow poets.
  • Visit, share, and comment on as many participants as you are comfortable with (A minimum of one or two before and/or after your name in the linky.), sharing logs of encouragement and supportive word love.
  • And most of all have fun!

There will be a linky that you can link up to daily regardless if you write to the poetry prompt or not. Also I know that there is at least one person that is Tweeting her poetry instead of blogging it and you can link up your Poetry Tweets as well by clicking on the three dots at bottom of tweet and selecting "copy link to tweet" (it should look something like this - https://twitter.com/MDragonwillow/status/648545027380092928 ) and after you copy your link bring it back to add it to the linky. You can do the same thing if you use Instagram for your poetry. If you are on Facebook you can come join in the fun there as well at, Writing Poetry Group.

Remember to use the Hashtag, #OctPoWriMo on Twitter and Instagram.

We are here to encourage and inspire you but where and how you come up with your poems is up to you.

Now without further delay...

  1. Almost missed it...decided to join at the last minute. I will be sports oriented again. But the prompt helped as I wrote a cloud acrostic related to.sports. Thank you for letting me participate again.

  2. My first link didn't work, so I redid it using my wordpress shortlink. Worked like a charm. This is my first year participating, so I'm learning. Apologize for my newbie mistakes.
